Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology (IT) Eng. Abdullah Al-Sawah recently met with White House officials in Washington to strengthen the strategic partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia. The goal of the meetings was to promote innovation within the Kingdom’s space industry and explore opportunities for collaboration in fifth- and sixth-generation technologies, as well as ORAN RAN technologies.

The meetings, which were also attended by Saudi Ambassador Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan and Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Haitham Al-Ohali, focused on enhancing partnerships in various technological fields. Al-Sawah met with Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber and Emerging Technology Anne Neuberger to discuss potential collaborations in cutting-edge technologies and new communication networks.

In addition to discussing technological advancements, Al-Sawah also met with other White House officials to explore cooperation in the digital economy and innovation. Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Infrastructure and Energy Security Amos Hochstein and National Security Council Middle East and North Africa Coordinator Brett McGurk were among the officials Al-Sawah met with to discuss potential partnerships in these areas.

One of the key topics of discussion during Al-Sawah’s visit was the development of the space industry in Saudi Arabia. In a meeting with Chirag Parikh, the Executive Secretary of the White House National Space Council, Al-Sawah explored opportunities for joint investments in space economies and technologies, as well as strategies for developing national talents in the field.

By fostering partnerships with the United States and collaborating on innovative technologies, Saudi Arabia aims to enhance its position as a global leader in the space industry. The discussions between Saudi Minister Al-Sawah and White House officials underscore the importance of international cooperation in driving innovation and economic growth in the digital age.

Overall, the meetings between Saudi Minister Al-Sawah and White House officials mark a significant step towards strengthening the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and the United States. Through collaboration in cutting-edge technologies, the two countries aim to foster innovation in the Kingdom’s space industry and drive economic growth in the digital economy.
