The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources is gearing up to host the second edition of the Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF) 2024 in Riyadh next October. This forum, affiliated with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), aims to foster collaboration with global leaders in industrial transformation and develop innovative policies to support industrial development on a regional and global scale.

The agenda for the forum includes a ministerial roundtable with participation from key ministers and industrial leaders from around the world. Discussions will focus on industrial policies, challenges, and proposed solutions, with a special emphasis on utilizing clean energy sources in industry and enhancing flexibility in supply chains. The forum will also explore the latest advancements in digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence, and their impact on manufacturing processes.

Scheduled to take place on October 23-24, the MIPF will be held in Riyadh for the first time, moving away from its traditional location in Vienna. The theme of the forum, “Transforming Challenges into Sustainable Solutions through Industrial Policies,” underscores the importance of addressing global challenges through effective industrial policies and practices. The event will provide a platform for showcasing Saudi Arabia’s industrial achievements and efforts to localize promising industries.

The Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Strategy, which aim to enhance the competitiveness of the industrial sector and foster innovation and creativity. Through dialogue sessions and exhibitions, the forum will promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among industry stakeholders, highlighting the role of industrial policies in driving sustainable development and economic growth.

Industry experts and policymakers attending the MIPF will have the opportunity to engage in discussions on best practices for leveraging digital technologies in manufacturing, exploring ways to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in industrial processes, and promoting a more resilient and adaptive industrial ecosystem. By fostering dialogue and collaboration among global leaders, the forum aims to catalyze positive change and drive innovation in the industrial sector.

Overall, the Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum 2024 promises to be a significant event for the global industrial community, offering a platform for experts and leaders to exchange insights, share best practices, and explore innovative solutions to common challenges. With a focus on sustainable development and industrial transformation, the forum will address key issues facing the industry today and pave the way for a more resilient, competitive, and innovative industrial sector in the future.
