Bandar Al-Khorayef, Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, has emphasized the importance of the newly established “National Minerals Program” in enhancing the quality and efficiency of mineral supply chains in the Kingdom. The program, approved by the Council of Ministers, aims to ensure the continuous supply of minerals for local industries and major projects, while also driving growth in the sector and maximizing the value realized from the Kingdom’s mineral wealth.

The establishment of the National Minerals Program reflects the leadership’s commitment to developing the mineral sector in Saudi Arabia. The country aims to elevate mining as the third pillar of the national industry, leveraging its strategic geographical location and advanced infrastructure to support economic development regionally and globally. By unifying key roles among different entities, bridging existing gaps, and building local capacities, the program seeks to enhance the efficiency and adequacy of mineral supply chains.

The program will play an active role in driving the growth paths of the mineral sector and exploiting the Kingdom’s vast mineral wealth. It will work to ensure the continuity of mineral supply chains at the regional and global levels, contributing to exploration processes and providing industrial supplies for local industries and major projects. By enhancing the efficiency and adequacy of mineral supply chains, the program will support economic development and the country’s future sustainability, both regionally and globally.

Al-Khorayef highlighted that Saudi Arabia aims to develop mineral value chains to establish mining as a significant component of the national industry. The country’s strategic geographical location, as one of the major trade intersections, along with its developed infrastructure, provides a strong foundation for supporting economic development and sustainability. The National Minerals Program will contribute to building local capacities, exploring new mineral resources, and ensuring the continuous supply of minerals for local industries and major projects.

The National Minerals Program will focus on unifying key roles among various entities, bridging existing gaps, and building local capacities to enhance the efficiency and adequacy of mineral supply chains. By ensuring the continuity of mineral supply chains and providing industrial supplies for local industries and major projects, the program will support economic development and the future sustainability of the Kingdom. Overall, the program aims to maximize the value realized from the mineral sector and drive growth in the industry, in line with the country’s vision for economic development and sustainability.
