In Muscat, the Sanad Services portal has seen a significant increase in usage, with around 6.7 million visitors accessing the platform to seek information and electronic services. The Sanad Service Centres, which are affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, have processed over 900,000 transactions and services in the first eight months of 2024. This includes completed transactions through the electronic portal as well as through the Oman Business Platform. By the end of August, a total of 913 centres were offering around 370 electronic services to customers.

Mohammed bin Salem Al-Mushaikhi, Director of Sanad Service Centres, highlighted the success of the centres in achieving their goals and providing services that streamline processes for customers. In addition to completing a large number of transactions, the centres have also created 2,433 job opportunities by the end of August. The statistics from the Sanad Services electronic portal show that Muscat Governorate had the largest share of completed services, followed by North Al Batinah Governorate and Dhofar Governorate.

Al-Mushaikhi emphasized the collaboration with 23 governmental and private institutions to offer a wide range of services to customers, including medical examination forms, business registration, work permits, contracts, technical and health services, water services, vehicle registration, taxi plate registration, and more. The centres also work with newspapers for advertisement services and collaborate with electricity and water companies to expedite customer transactions with accuracy. The centres have been increasing their workforce and extending working hours to meet the increasing demand for their services.

The growing demand for the Sanad Services electronic portal reflects the trust customers have in the employees of the Sanad Centres who work hard to provide efficient services and expedite transaction completion. Al-Mushaikhi noted that efforts are being made through the Sanad Service Centres to align with Oman’s e-government strategy and provide excellent electronic services to individuals and private enterprises. With 913 centres spread across various governorates, the centres play a vital role in supporting the economy and creating job opportunities for Omanis.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion constantly monitors customer feedback on Sanad services to simplify procedures and introduce new transactions. Workshops have been conducted to explore expanding electronic services for citizens, residents, and investors. The ministry supports the Sanad Service Centres by overcoming challenges, ensuring sustainability, and involving centre owners in future plans. The identity of the Sanad Service Centres is part of a continuous development initiative to enhance the leadership in electronic services and provide customers with consistent, high-quality services.
