The Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences, located in Muscat, recently launched a training programme for citizens working in divisions responsible for managing land border checkpoints. This programme, implemented by the Royal Oman Police in collaboration with the private sector, aims to educate participants on relevant regulations, laws, and security systems, as well as equip them with the necessary skills to carry out their duties effectively.

The ceremony announcing the launch of the training programme was attended by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, as well as Lt. Gen Hassan Mohsin Al Shuraiqi, Inspector-General of Police and Customs. The initiative also includes delegating handling tasks at land border checkpoints to private sector companies, with operational units being connected through the Bayan system. This will help speed up customs clearance using the latest technology and equipment, streamline procedures, implement innovative standards, and enhance institutional performance.

By partnering with the private sector, the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences and the Royal Oman Police are taking steps to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of land border checkpoint operations. Through this training programme, participants will gain a better understanding of the laws and regulations governing their work, as well as the security systems in place. This will empower them to perform their duties with confidence and competence, ensuring the smooth and secure flow of goods across the border.

The programme will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall performance of land border checkpoints in Oman by leveraging the expertise and resources of both the public and private sectors. By leveraging the latest equipment, programmes, and technologies, participants will be able to accelerate customs clearance processes, reduce delays, and enhance the overall efficiency of checkpoint operations. This will not only benefit businesses by facilitating the movement of goods but also contribute to the overall security and safety of the country.

The partnership between the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences, the Royal Oman Police, and the private sector demonstrates the commitment of all stakeholders to improving the management and handling of operations at land border checkpoints. By working together, they will be able to implement best practices, streamline procedures, and optimize the use of technology to achieve better outcomes. This collaborative approach will help to ensure that land border checkpoints in Oman operate smoothly, securely, and efficiently, benefiting both businesses and the wider community.

In conclusion, the training programme launched by the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences is a significant step towards enhancing the performance of land border checkpoints in Oman. By educating participants on relevant laws, regulations, and security systems, as well as providing them with the skills and tools they need to succeed, the programme will help to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of checkpoint operations. Through collaboration with the private sector and the adoption of innovative technologies, the programme will contribute to faster customs clearance, smoother procedures, and overall improved institutional performance.
