Bahrain’s real estate sector is currently experiencing significant growth and transformation, as reported by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). Since 2019, RERA has issued a total of 461 licenses for real estate managers, indicating a high level of activity within the industry. However, it is important to note that 154 of these licenses have been revoked, highlighting the ongoing regulatory oversight and industry adaptation taking place.

In addition to real estate managers, RERA has also granted 155 licenses to real estate appraisers, with 54 revocations. This further emphasizes the dynamic nature of the market and the need for stringent regulatory measures to ensure high standards are maintained. The report also revealed that RERA has approved 27 real estate development projects, with six already completed, showcasing a robust development pipeline within the sector.

One developer voluntarily surrendered their license, demonstrating the agency’s commitment to upholding industry standards and the ever-evolving market landscape. Furthermore, the increasing number of Owners’ Associations, which now stands at 560 compared to 547 in June, highlights the growth in completed projects and the changing dynamics of property ownership in Bahrain.

To streamline processes and improve efficiency, RERA has introduced new online services through the Bahrain.bh portal. These services enable stakeholders to easily apply for and renew licenses, manage Owners’ Association activities, and update contact information. The digitalization initiative is aimed at enhancing transparency and accessibility within the real estate sector for all involved parties.

Overall, the report from RERA indicates a positive trend of growth and development within Bahrain’s real estate sector. With ongoing regulatory oversight and a focus on maintaining high standards, the industry is poised for further expansion and transformation. The increasing number of completed projects and Owners’ Associations reflect a dynamic market landscape, while the introduction of online services enhances efficiency and accessibility for all stakeholders.
