Hamad Port in Doha, Qatar continues to solidify its position as a key player in the region’s maritime sector. QTerminals, a terminal operating company jointly established by Qatar Ports Management Company and Qatar Navigation, recently achieved a new berth productivity record of 234.26 berth moves per hour. This achievement was made while handling the vessel MSC ELISA XIII, setting a new milestone for the port.

In addition to breaking productivity records, QTerminals also prioritizes sustainability in its operations. The company recently replaced high mast sodium vapor fixtures with energy-efficient LED lights at Hamad Port’s Container Terminal 1. Furthermore, a long-term project is in place to install solar panels on container terminals CT1 and CT2 reefer gantries. These initiatives are part of QTerminals’ commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting environmental responsibility.

Hamad Port’s focus on safety is also evident, with the facility achieving 2.026 million safe/lost time incident-free man-hours in June. The port prides itself on maintaining high standards of workers safety while also implementing eco-friendly equipment such as electric, zero-emission tractors. These measures help to reduce the environmental impact of operations at the port.

With its expanding network and state-of-the-art infrastructure, Hamad Port facilitates the smooth flow of goods and transshipment across various terminals. The port’s exceptional services cater to both domestic and international clientele, contributing to improved business environments and growth opportunities. The port plays a vital role in bolstering Qatar’s position in the global market and aligns with the country’s economic diversification plans outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030.

As part of its commitment to fostering partnerships and community engagement, QTerminals recently announced its partnership as the Official Training Partner for Feyenoord Club in Rotterdam. This strategic agreement will see QTerminals’ logo displayed on the training kit for Feyenoord 1, Feyenoord Women 1, and all teams of the Feyenoord Academy. Additionally, QTerminals will support Feyenoord’s community programmes, further strengthening ties between the company and the club.

In conclusion, as Hamad Port continues to set new benchmarks for productivity, safety, and sustainability, it reinforces its position as a leading global trade hub. With a focus on efficiency, innovation, and partnerships, the port plays a crucial role in enhancing Qatar’s economic diversification plans and contributing to the country’s vision for the future.
