The Qatar Scouts and Guides Association recently concluded their participation in the European scout camp (JAMSCOUT 2024) held in Soria, Spain. The camp ran from July 13 to 21 and saw young Qatari scouters aged 14 to 17 take part in various educational and patrimonial activities. Over 8,000 people attended the closing ceremony, including invited guests and organizers, with the Qatari delegation consisting of 20 scout leaders.

Ghanim Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, head of the Qatari scout delegation, emphasized the importance of Qatar’s participation in JAMSCOUT 2024. He noted that it aligns with the association’s goals and strategy, providing scouters with the opportunity to engage in global events and represent Qatar on the international scouting stage. Al Kuwari also highlighted the sharing of expertise with other scout associations and the showcasing of Qatar’s rich culture, history, and modern development under its wise leadership.

Two scouters, Hamad Youssef Al Amri and Hizam Al Musleh, shared their experiences at the camp, noting that it helped raise Qatar’s flag high in Europe. They participated in various contests that demonstrated the skills and capabilities of Qatari scouters, who successfully navigated challenges and interacted with scouts from around the world. The event provided them with valuable new experiences in the scouting field.

The Qatar Scouts and Guides Association’s participation in JAMSCOUT 2024 also served as an opportunity to strengthen international ties and showcase Qatar’s esteemed position on the global map. It allowed for the exchange of knowledge and the promotion of Qatar’s cultural heritage to a wider audience. The event further highlighted Qatar’s commitment to investing in the development and growth of its young scouters.

By taking part in international scout camps like JAMSCOUT 2024, the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association are able to enhance the skills and capabilities of their scouters, preparing them for future challenges and opportunities. The experience gained from such events helps scouters broaden their horizons and develop a global perspective. Qatar’s continued participation in these camps also contributes to promoting cross-cultural understanding and cooperation among scout associations worldwide.

In conclusion, the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association’s participation in JAMSCOUT 2024 was a resounding success, furthering the association’s goals of promoting scouting values, fostering international cooperation, and showcasing Qatar’s cultural heritage. The event provided valuable experiences for the young Qatari scouters, helping them develop essential skills and competencies. By engaging in such global events, the association continues to uphold its commitment to excellence in scouting and to representing Qatar on the international stage.
