Qatar Museums Celebrates the Year of the Family 2024 with an Educational Event

“We Are Family” is a part of Qatar Museums’ efforts to promote family values and ethical commitment. The event, titled “We Are QM Family,” was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Family at Fire Station: Artist in Residence, in conjunction with the ongoing exhibition, Pipilotti Rist – Electric Idyll. The program is aligned with Qatar’s Family Year 2024, focusing on the family’s Code of Ethics.

Sheikha Reem Al Thani, Acting Deputy CEO of Exhibitions at Qatar Museums, emphasized the importance of collaboration and creativity within the museum family. The Qatar Museums employees worked together to create an artwork called 1300 Inspirations, symbolizing unity and creativity. The artwork will be unveiled on International Family Day, May 15, at Fire Station.

Qatar Museums aims to reflect the principles of the Qatari National Charter on Family Rights and Duties. The organization fosters a familial atmosphere among its employees, promoting creativity, innovation, and self-reliance within families. By nurturing individual talents and ambitions, Qatar Museums supports the development of societal values and the enrichment of Qatari society through cultural expression and engagement.

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, in collaboration with Qatar Museums, emphasizes the pivotal role families play in strengthening family cohesion and advocating for the Family Charter. Through various activities and artistic endeavors, the Ministry aims to raise awareness about family-related issues and promote creativity and self-awareness through art.

The Fire Station, part of Qatar Museums’ Creative Hub/Creative Cluster, serves as a nurturing ground for creativity and a community of artists from diverse backgrounds. The director, Khalifa Ahmad Al Obaidli, highlighted the commitment to providing a supportive platform for artists and projects that contribute to Qatar’s cultural diversity. By creating a vibrant arts community, Fire Station extends its impact globally and supports the development of a strong and sustainable cultural infrastructure.

In conclusion, “We Are Family” highlights the importance of family values and ethical commitment in Qatar Museums’ educational programs.
