The Ministry of Interior in Qatar has introduced a new format for the Disability Parking Permit in the country. This new format is designed according to approved standards and the latest technical specifications. The purpose of this new format is to regulate the use of disabled parking spaces in Qatar. The Ministry has stated that old permits will continue to be valid until their expiration date. The terms and conditions for using the Disability Parking Permit include rules such as parking in disabled spaces being prohibited if the disabled person is not in the vehicle, displaying the permit clearly behind the front windshield, and notifying the issuing authority within 48 hours in case of loss.

It is important for permit holders to abide by the rules and regulations set by the Ministry of Interior to ensure that the Disability Parking Permit is used appropriately. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions may result in the permit being suspended and violations being issued. The General Directorate of Traffic, which is the issuing authority of the permit, has the right to withdraw the permit if it is misused or if the permit holder is not present when the vehicle is parked in a disabled parking space.

In the event that the Disability Parking Permit is lost, permit holders are required to notify the General Directorate of Traffic within 48 hours. If the permit is found, it should be handed over to the nearest police station or Traffic Directorate branch. It is important for the permit to carry a stamp of the issuing authority to be considered valid. Unauthorized use of the permit, such as displaying it when the disabled person is not present in the vehicle, is strictly prohibited and can result in permit suspension.

By introducing this new format for the Disability Parking Permit and implementing clear rules and regulations for its use, the Ministry of Interior in Qatar aims to ensure that disabled parking spaces are used appropriately and that individuals with disabilities have access to these spaces when needed. It is important for permit holders to understand and follow the terms and conditions of use to avoid any violations and to ensure that the Disability Parking Permit is used for its intended purpose of providing assistance to individuals with disabilities.
