The Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, highlighted the State of Qatar’s pioneering efforts in empowering women, especially in societies facing conflicts. She mentioned the “Women in Conflict Zones” initiative launched by Qatar in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program to provide support to women affected by armed conflicts. Qatar also collaborates with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia to empower women in the workplace and create a supportive environment for them. Local efforts such as the Qatari Businesswomen Association and the Women’s Action Group supervised by the Ministry of Labor aim to promote women’s entrepreneurship and enhance their capabilities.

Dr. Hamda emphasized the importance of education in supporting women, mentioning the Women’s Center at Georgetown University in Qatar. This center helps women from diverse backgrounds by empowering them academically, economically, and socially. Qatar is committed to continuing its efforts to enhance the role of women locally and internationally, ensuring their active participation in sustainable development and creating a brighter future for all societies. The Fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum concluded in St. Petersburg, focusing on topics such as promoting global peace, preserving traditions, developing technology, promoting a healthy society, and achieving social welfare.

During the Forum, Dr. Hamda met with various officials, including the Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly of Indonesia, and the Executive Director of the Donors Forum Association of the Russian Federation. Discussions revolved around enhancing efforts to support women and addressing topics raised during the Forum. Qatar’s initiatives in empowering women both locally and internationally were praised, highlighting the country’s dedication to promoting gender equality and women’s participation in various sectors.

The Women in Conflict Zones initiative and Qatar’s collaboration with international organizations demonstrate the country’s commitment to supporting women affected by conflicts, poverty, and marginalization. By empowering women economically, socially, and academically, Qatar aims to create a more inclusive society where women have equal opportunities for success. Initiatives such as the Qatari Businesswomen Association and the Women’s Action Group play a crucial role in promoting women’s entrepreneurship and enhancing their capabilities, ultimately contributing to a more stable and prosperous society for all.

The Fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum served as a platform for discussing key issues related to women’s empowerment, global cooperation, and social welfare. Qatar’s participation in this Forum highlighted the country’s ongoing efforts to enhance the role of women in various sectors. By supporting initiatives that empower women and promote gender equality, Qatar is paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable society where women can thrive and contribute meaningfully to sustainable development. Dr. Hamda’s participation in the Forum reflects Qatar’s commitment to advancing women’s rights and promoting their active participation in shaping a brighter future for all.
