The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its support for the opinion of the International Court of Justice regarding the Israeli practices affecting the human rights of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, including East Jerusalem. In a statement, the Omani Foreign Ministry emphasized the illegality of these practices and reaffirmed the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination. Oman called on the international community to adhere to international resolutions and conventions that advocate for an immediate end to the illegal occupation and settlement activities in the Palestinian territories.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman closely followed the opinion presented by the International Court of Justice in response to a request from the United Nations General Assembly. The Court’s confirmation of the illegality of Israeli practices in the occupied territories and its recognition of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination were welcomed by Oman. The Sultanate reiterated its plea for the international community to take action in implementing these resolutions and conventions to put an end to the ongoing violations in the region.

Oman’s stance on the issue also includes calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders that existed in 1967, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital. The Sultanate firmly believes in the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to have their own sovereign state and is committed to supporting initiatives that aim to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Oman’s position aligns with international law and principles that advocate for the rights and freedoms of all nations, including the Palestinian people.

The Omani government’s support for the International Court of Justice’s opinion reflects its commitment to upholding justice and human rights on a global scale. By denouncing the illegal practices of the occupying state and advocating for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, Oman is sending a strong message to the international community about the need for immediate action to address the ongoing crisis in the region. The Sultanate’s calls for an end to the cycle of violence and settlement activities in the Palestinian territories emphasize the urgency of finding a peaceful and sustainable solution to the conflict.

In light of the recent developments in the region, Oman’s diplomatic efforts highlight the importance of international cooperation and adherence to legal frameworks in resolving conflicts. The Sultanate’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people is rooted in its commitment to justice, equality, and peace for all nations. By continuing to advocate for a two-state solution based on international law and UN resolutions, Oman is actively working towards a future where both Palestinians and Israelis can coexist in peace and security.

In conclusion, Oman’s welcoming of the International Court of Justice’s opinion on the Israeli practices in the occupied territories is a significant step towards addressing the longstanding conflict in the region. By reiterating its support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and calling for an end to the illegal occupation, Oman is standing in solidarity with those who are affected by the ongoing crisis. The Sultanate’s diplomatic efforts demonstrate its commitment to upholding justice and promoting peace in the Middle East, and its calls for international action reflect a strong commitment to finding a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
