Oman and Kuwait to strengthen economic and cultural ties

The Sultanate of Oman and Kuwait share strong bonds of understanding, mutual respect, and sincere cooperation. The two countries are currently focused on implementing joint economic projects ahead of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s visit to Kuwait. This visit may lead to the signing of memorandums of understanding and executive programmes in various fields including economic, cultural, and artistic areas.

The volume of trade exchange between Oman and Kuwait has been on the rise, with direct Kuwaiti investments in Oman concentrated in manufacturing industries, real estate, hotels, trade, and financial intermediation. The number of Kuwaiti tourists visiting Oman has also seen an increase, with efforts being made to further promote tourism in the Sultanate to attract more visitors from Kuwait.

Cultural and artistic cooperation between Oman and Kuwait is ongoing, with activities being coordinated with relevant authorities in both countries. The visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham to Kuwait is expected to strengthen the already distinguished relationship between the leaderships of the two countries and their people. This visit is historic due to the deep-rooted relations between Kuwait and Oman and will further enhance cooperation at the political level in various regional and international fields.

On the economic front, statistics show a significant increase in the volume of trade exchange between Oman and Kuwait, with direct Kuwaiti investments in Oman reaching OMR830.90 million by the end of 2023. The value of Omani exports to Kuwait also saw a notable increase in 2023 compared to the previous year. The number of Kuwaiti companies registered in Oman stands at around 301, with a total invested capital exceeding OMR84.4 million in various sectors.

The visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham to Kuwait is expected to pave the way for enhanced cooperation between the two countries in different areas including economic, cultural, and educational fields. The strong ties between Oman and Kuwait are based on mutual respect and understanding, and the upcoming visit is seen as a significant step towards further strengthening these relations and expanding collaboration on various fronts.

In conclusion, the relationship between Oman and Kuwait is characterized by deep-rooted historical ties and a shared vision for the future.
