NSSA participates in Gulf workshop on space cooperation

The National Space Science Authority (NSSA) recently participated in a workshop on “Cooperation in the Field of Space” organized by the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in Riyadh. Led by Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Asiri, CEO of the Authority, the Bahraini delegation presented the history of the Kingdom’s space sector and discussed key achievements and projects. The workshop aimed to enhance cooperation among Gulf countries in the space sector and to understand their capabilities and future plans.

The workshop highlighted the importance of fostering Gulf cooperation in space to achieve integration among member states. Dr. Al-Asiri commended the General Secretariat for its coordination and organization of the event and emphasized the significance of the recommendations in advancing Gulf action towards realizing the aspirations of GCC countries. The workshop provided a platform for discussions on enhancing collaboration and developing strategies for the future of the space sector in the Gulf region.

The Bahraini delegation, including Dr. Muhammad Al-Othman and Professor Amal Al-Binali, highlighted the Authority’s journey from its inception to the present, showcasing its accomplishments and contributions to the space sector. The presentation underscored the role of the workshop as the first step in initiating a dialogue on the history, achievements, and capabilities of the space sector across member states. The event served as a forum for sharing experiences and best practices in the field of space science.

The workshop aimed to foster partnership among Gulf countries in space exploration and research, laying the foundation for future collaborations and joint projects.
