The Saudi Cabinet, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, recently approved the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority Law. The session also included discussions on recent diplomatic communications, focusing on strengthening relations with France, Russia, and Iraq. Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary highlighted the Kingdom’s proactive role in mediating and supporting peace initiatives in Gaza and Yemen. The Cabinet welcomed the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion declaring the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories illegal and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s call for a just resolution of the Palestinian issue in accordance with international resolutions.

On the economic front, the Cabinet noted the stabilization of inflation rates in Saudi Arabia, which is favorable compared to global trends. This is attributed to effective economic policies implemented by the Kingdom. The Cabinet also authorized ministers to negotiate and sign memorandums of understanding with international partners in various fields such as culture, consumer protection, mineral resources, and human rights. In addition, bilateral employment agreements were approved with Gambia and Tanzania, as well as tax agreements with Kuwait and Gambia to prevent double taxation and tax evasion, demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strong international labor and economic relations.

Furthermore, the Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to environmental conservation efforts, including the 2030 Seagrass Breakthrough and a memorandum of understanding with Bahrain for sustainable waste management. These initiatives reflect the Kingdom’s dedication to preserving the environment and promoting sustainable practices. Overall, these decisions and discussions highlight Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance cooperation with international partners, address economic challenges, and support environmental conservation efforts.

As Saudi Arabia continues to play a vital role in mediating regional conflicts and promoting peace initiatives, the Cabinet’s approval of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority Law underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to combating corruption and ensuring transparency in governance. By approving bilateral agreements with various countries and focusing on economic stabilization, Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a key player in the global arena. The Kingdom’s efforts to promote international cooperation and environmental conservation reflect its vision for a sustainable and prosperous future for all.
