The Ministry of Transport in Doha, Qatar recently held a workshop focused on the Qatar Access Management Guidelines (QAMG) project. This workshop brought together representatives from various government entities, agencies, consultancy firms, and strategic partners to discuss the components and latest updates of the project. Stakeholders provided valuable feedback aimed at improving traffic safety, enhancing access, and promoting mobility for users of transportation on local roads, highways, and expressways.

The QAMG project’s main goal is to update the current access management chapter of the Qatar Highway Design Manual (QHDM 2020) and provide guidance to local government entities, consultants, developers, and planners on access management best practices. It also aims to establish consistency in managing both permanent and temporary access throughout Qatar and improve traffic safety at access locations across the country. The workshop attendees played a crucial role in contributing to the project’s objectives and goals.

The workshop featured discussions on the project’s standards, policies, regulations, and permitting procedures to ensure that the QAMG aligns with regional and international best practices. The collaboration between stakeholders and strategic partners is essential for the success of the project, as their feedback and input will help shape the QAMG’s framework and implementation process. This cooperative effort will ultimately lead to a more cohesive and efficient transportation infrastructure in Qatar.

By involving various stakeholders in the development of the QAMG project, the Ministry of Transport is fostering a collaborative approach to address access management challenges and improve overall traffic safety in the country. The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to share their expertise and perspectives, which will ultimately contribute to the successful implementation of the guidelines. The MoT’s commitment to engaging stakeholders and partners reflects its dedication to creating a more sustainable and efficient transportation system in Qatar.

Overall, the QAMG project aims to enhance access management practices in Qatar by providing comprehensive guidelines and standards for managing access on local roads, highways, and expressways. Stakeholders’ participation in the workshop signifies their commitment to improving transportation infrastructure and traffic safety in the country. The Ministry of Transport’s partnership with stakeholders and strategic partners will play a vital role in shaping the QAMG’s development and ensuring its alignment with the best practices in the region and internationally.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Transport’s initiative to update the Qatar Access Management Guidelines through collaboration with stakeholders and strategic partners demonstrates a commitment to improving transportation infrastructure and traffic safety in Qatar. The workshop held as part of the QAMG project provided a platform for valuable discussions and feedback, which will help shape the guidelines and promote uniformity in managing access across the country. Moving forward, continued cooperation between stakeholders and the MoT will be key to achieving the project’s objectives and goals for a more efficient and safe transportation network in Qatar.
