Meteorology Department issues warning of reduced visibility

The weather in Doha, Qatar is expected to be misty to foggy at places at first, with moderate temperatures during the day and cold nights. The Department of Meteorology has warned of poor horizontal visibility in some areas. Offshore, it will be hazy and partly cloudy at times. The wind will be variable at first, becoming mainly southwesterly-northwesterly with a speed of 5-15 KT. Offshore, the wind will be mainly southeasterly-southwesterly, shifting to northwesterly with a speed ranging from 3-10 KT to 07-17 KT gusting to 20 KT by late night. The sea state inshore will be 1-2 ft, rising to 4 ft by late night, while offshore will be 1-3 ft, rising to 2-4 ft by late night. Visibility inshore will range from 4-9 km to 2 km or less at places at first, while offshore will be 4-8 km.

In summary, the weather in Doha until 6:00 pm on Tuesday will be misty to foggy in some places, with moderate daytime temperatures and cold nights. The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for poor horizontal visibility in some areas. Offshore, conditions will be hazy and partly cloudy at times. The wind will be variable initially but will become mainly southwesterly-northwesterly inshore, and mainly southeasterly-southwesterly offshore. The sea state will be relatively calm inshore, ranging from 1-2 ft to 4 ft by late night, while offshore will be 1-3 ft rising to 2-4 ft by late night. Visibility will be reduced in some areas, with inshore visibility ranging from 4-9 km to 2 km or less at places at first, and offshore visibility at 4-8 km.
