Summer break is here, and parents are looking for ways to keep their children engaged during the holidays. With a wide range of activities and unique camps to choose from, children can learn new skills and have fun at the same time. From dog training to car maintenance, golfing to shipbuilding, there are plenty of options available for kids this summer.

The first camp on the list is the Dog Training Skills camp, where children can train rescue dogs before they are adopted. Hosted by The Petshop in partnership with Ginger Way and Stray Dogs Centre, this five-day camp aims to teach kids essential dog training skills and promote responsible pet ownership. The camp will be held in three sessions throughout July and August at The Petshop’s DIP branch.

For aspiring mechanics, the Young Mechanic summer camp at the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn the basics of car maintenance. Participants aged 13 to 18 will engage in educational activities on safety and security requirements, as well as hands-on workshops like the Radio workshop. The camp will run from July 15 to 25.

Kids who are interested in golf can join the Become a Golfing Pro camp by Topgolf Dubai. Guided by PGA Professionals, children between the ages of 5 and 13 will have the chance to improve their golfing skills and enjoy arts and crafts activities, as well as pool time at the Emirates Golf Club. The camp will run on weekdays from July 8 to August 23.

The Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA) is organizing a maritime-themed summer camp for children aged 6 to 12 at the Sharjah Maritime Museum. Kids will learn about shipbuilding, pearl diving, diving professions, and the art of being a skilled pearl merchant. Other camps by SMA will also focus on science, innovation, and archaeology. The camp will take place on August 5-8 and August 12-15.

At the Children’s Museum in Louvre Abu Dhabi, children aged 8 to 12 can participate in the ultimate space adventure camp, where they will learn teamwork and communication skills. In collaboration with MBRSC and ATRC for Robotics, the camp includes activities that promote teamwork, leadership, decision-making, and creative problem-solving. The camp will run from July 16-26.

Lastly, at the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, children aged 6 to 13 can attend a five-day summer camp to learn various skills such as tying knots and sending Morse code messages. From designing forts to exploring UAE history and culture, kids will have the opportunity to learn about the country on a deeper level. The camp will run on July 15-19 and July 22-26.
