In-person classes in public schools in Jeddah, Rabigh, and Khulais will remain suspended on Thursday, due to the rain forecast issued by the National Center of Meteorology. This decision was made to prioritize public safety, as heavy rainfall is expected in parts of the Makkah and Madinah regions, including Jeddah city, on Thursday and Friday. The Education Department of the Jeddah Governorate announced that classes will be conducted remotely via the Ministry of Education’s Madrasati platform for all students, teachers, and other staff members.

The recent heavy rainfall in the southern Jazan region on Wednesday affected various areas, including the city of Jazan, the Jazan industrial city, and several governorates. The affected areas include Baish, Abu Arish, Sabya, Samtah, Al-Harith, Ahad Al-Masarihah, At-Tawwal, Al-Dayer Bani Malik, Al-Eidabi, Al-Aridah, Al-Raith, Fifa, Harub, Dammad, and Al-Darb. The situation is being closely monitored, and precautionary measures are being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents in these areas.

The National Center of Meteorology has issued warnings about the possibility of heavy rainfall in the coming days in various regions across the country. At least 31 hydrological and climatic monitoring stations recorded rainfall on Wednesday in regions such as Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Al-Qassim, Asir, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Baha, and Al-Jouf. These monitoring stations play a crucial role in predicting and monitoring weather patterns in different regions, which helps in issuing timely warnings and ensuring public safety.

The Ministry of Education’s decision to suspend in-person classes in Jeddah, Rabigh, and Khulais on Thursday highlights the importance of prioritizing the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and staff members during severe weather conditions. Remote learning via the Madrasati platform allows for continuity in education while ensuring that students can still access educational resources and materials from the safety of their homes. This proactive approach towards ensuring educational continuity during adverse weather conditions is commendable and reflects the government’s commitment to providing quality education to students.

The heavy rainfall experienced in the southern Jazan region on Wednesday serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of weather patterns and the importance of being prepared for such eventualities. The affected areas in Jazan and other governorates are being closely monitored, with authorities taking necessary measures to mitigate the impact of the heavy rainfall and ensure the safety of residents. Such instances underscore the need for robust disaster preparedness strategies and effective communication channels to disseminate timely information and updates to the public.

As the country braces for the possibility of heavy rainfall in the coming days, it is essential for residents to stay informed about weather forecasts, follow safety guidelines issued by relevant authorities, and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their property. The collaboration between government agencies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders in coordinating response efforts during severe weather events is crucial in safeguarding public safety and minimizing the impact of natural disasters. By prioritizing safety and taking proactive measures, communities can effectively navigate challenging weather conditions and emerge resilient in the face of adversity.
