His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, recently made significant changes in the government by issuing two new edicts. The first edict, number 28 of 2024, amended provisions of Edict 6 of 2022, specifically focusing on the restructuring of the Government Service Centre Evaluation Committee (Taqyeem). The amendment included the addition of Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa as a member of the committee. This change aims to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the committee in evaluating government service centers.

Additionally, HRH Prince Salman issued Edict 27 of 2024, which amended Article I of Edict 9 of 2023 regarding the restructuring of the National Committee for Childhood. This decision was based on a proposal by the Minister of Social Development and approved by the Cabinet. The amendment added a new clause, number 13, to Article I of Edict 9 of 2023, appointing the Head of the Unit of Child Protection in Cyberspace to represent the Ministry of Interior on the committee. These changes reflect the government’s commitment to addressing issues related to children’s well-being and safety in various aspects.

The implementation of these edicts is crucial for improving the functioning of the government service center evaluation committee and the national committee for childhood. The addition of new members to these committees will bring diverse perspectives and expertise, contributing to better decision-making and policy formulation. It is essential for relevant authorities to promptly implement the provisions outlined in the edicts to ensure timely and effective execution of the proposed changes.

The amendments made by HRH Prince Salman highlight the government’s continuous efforts to enhance governance and address pressing issues in society. By restructuring key committees and appointing new members based on expertise and merit, the government aims to strengthen its capacity to deliver efficient and quality services to the public. These changes mark a step towards greater transparency and accountability in government processes, ultimately benefiting the citizens and the overall development of the country.

The official publication of these edicts in the Official Gazette signifies their legal validity and formal recognition by the government. It is a crucial step in the process of implementing the proposed changes and ensuring that they are enforced across all relevant sectors. The public announcement of these amendments also serves to inform the population about the government’s actions and initiatives, promoting transparency and accountability in decision-making processes.

In conclusion, the recent edicts issued by HRH Prince Salman demonstrate the government’s commitment to modernizing governance structures and addressing key societal issues. By restructuring important committees and appointing new members with relevant expertise, the government aims to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability in its operations. The implementation of these changes will play a vital role in improving service delivery and addressing critical issues, ultimately benefiting the citizens of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
