Head of Nazaha: Vision 2030 aims to be a successful model in fighting corruption

Saudi Arabia is committed to fighting corruption and implementing the Vision 2030 plan, as stated by Mazen Al-Kahmous, president of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), at the Arab Forum of Anti-Corruption Agencies and Financial Intelligence Units in Riyadh. The event, held under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aims to address major threats of money laundering and terrorist financing crimes through international cooperation. Abdulaziz Alhowairini, head of the Presidency of State Security, emphasized the importance of stability and security in combating these dangers through legislation and regulatory policies. He praised the Kingdom’s efforts in exchanging information and experiences with countries and international organizations.

Al-Kahmous expressed hope that the conference’s efforts would serve as a model for international cooperation in combating corruption. He welcomed the participation of experts from Arab countries and international organizations in developing a guiding model for agreements and memoranda of understanding to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in combating financial crimes. The forum aims to facilitate cooperation between government agencies in Saudi Arabia, counterpart organizations, and regional and international bodies to address the challenges of financial crime. With around 600 experts and 75 speakers from 25 countries participating, the event organized by the Presidency of State Security and Nazaha includes workshops, special meetings, and the launch of initiatives and agreements to strengthen anti-corruption efforts.

The Arab Forum of Anti-Corruption Agencies and Financial Intelligence Units in Riyadh serves as a platform for experts and representatives from various countries and organizations to discuss and strategize solutions to financial crimes and corruption. The forum provides an opportunity for the exchange of information, experiences, and best practices in combating corruption and financial crimes. By facilitating collaboration between national authorities and international bodies, the event seeks to enhance coordination and cooperation in addressing the challenges related to combating corruption and money laundering.

The commitment of Saudi Arabia to combating corruption and implementing the Vision 2030 plan is evident through the efforts of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) and the Presidency of State Security in organizing the Arab Forum. Through international cooperation and exchange of information, the Kingdom aims to combat major threats such as money laundering and terrorist financing crimes. The forum also serves as a platform for experts to develop models for agreements and memoranda of understanding to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in combating financial crimes on a global scale.

With the participation of experts from Arab countries and international organizations, the Arab Forum in Riyadh aims to unify efforts among various institutions to confront the challenges of financial crimes. By charting a clear path for cooperation between government agencies in the Kingdom and counterpart organizations, the forum strives to strengthen anti-corruption efforts and enhance local cooperation in combating corruption and financial crimes. The event will include workshops, special meetings, and the signing of agreements to further advance efforts in combating corruption and promoting international cooperation in addressing financial crimes.
