Tamkeen, a key player in revolutionizing the health sector in Bahrain, has launched initiatives that are set to bring about a significant qualitative shift in the Kingdom’s healthcare system, according to MP Dr. Maryam Al Dhaen. These initiatives focus on the development and training of national cadres in the health sector, with a special emphasis on supporting Bahraini doctors and nurses. Programs will provide support to over 700 Bahraini doctors and nurses through five main initiatives, including covering the costs for obtaining board certifications and supporting doctors in the private sector during their training period.
Dr. Al-Dhaen emphasized that the ultimate goal of these initiatives is to make Bahraini cadres the best choice for employment in the private health sector. By providing rigorous training and professional development opportunities, the quality of healthcare in Bahrain will be enhanced, ensuring that the national medical workforce is well-equipped to meet the community’s health needs. The dedication of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in driving initiatives that increase employment opportunities for Bahraini doctors was also acknowledged by Dr. Al-Dhaen.
Furthermore, the extensive programme package launched by Tamkeen, the largest of its kind, was commended by Dr. Al-Dhaen. Expressing gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his support, she noted that the initiative symbolizes the spirit of partnership within the Bahrain team and opens up promising horizons for Bahraini youth in the medical and nursing fields. The program offers significant opportunities for creating quality jobs in one of the Kingdom’s most prominent sectors.
Looking ahead, Dr. Al-Dhaen expressed her aspirations for Bahrain to maintain its leadership in the National Genome Programme, which is aimed at establishing a comprehensive database to monitor and prevent genetic diseases. She also highlighted the importance of expanding the use of modern technologies and robotics in medicine, positioning Bahrain as a pioneer in the Arabian Gulf in utilizing medical robots in isolation wards. Collaborating with global experts to advance emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, biotechnology, materials science, and robotics in the medical sector can significantly enhance patient care and healthcare services in Bahrain and worldwide.
