The government of Bahrain has assured Members of Parliament that jobs and scholarships for graduates have already been secured. In response to a recent call from the Council of Representatives, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, H.E. Ghanem Fadhel Al Buainain, stated that regular checks on job needs in public bodies are conducted, and scholarship plans are already in place. The Civil Service Bureau and the Ministry of Education work together to ensure that graduates possess the skills needed in the public sector.
The government emphasized the importance of education in Bahrain’s growth plan. Various schemes, such as the Ministry of Education’s scholarship programme, are designed based on feedback from both public and private sectors to guide students towards fields where there is a demand for talent. Additionally, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme supports study at prestigious foreign schools and provides additional training to prepare graduates for their future careers.
The Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, established in 2013, helps students who cannot afford higher education align their studies with Bahrain’s job market needs. The AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation also offers scholarships to support Bahraini students and prepare them for the requirements of the job market. The government believes that these ongoing efforts already fulfill the objectives outlined in the Council’s call for action.
Minister Al Buainain stressed that the existing system for scholarships and job placements is effective in meeting the needs of graduates. The government works closely with various organizations to ensure that students are equipped with the skills required by the job market. The government’s focus on education is a key driver of Bahrain’s growth plan.
Overall, the government’s initiatives in providing scholarships and job opportunities for graduates demonstrate a commitment to supporting the education and career development of Bahraini youth. By collaborating with different sectors and organizations, the government aims to bridge the gap between the skills of graduates and the demands of the job market. Through these ongoing efforts, the government is working towards ensuring the success and employability of Bahraini graduates in various fields.
