The Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has announced plans to develop a public beach and beach club at the Bahrain Bay project as part of its tourism strategy for 2022-2026. The project, spanning 173,000 square meters and comprising five plots, will involve a collaboration with the private sector. The initiative will be undertaken through a tender process managed by the official Tender Board, with one plot designated for a public beach and three plots for private sector developers.
In line with the development, the Tender Board has set an initial guarantee of BD5,000 with a validity period of 90 days for interested bidders. The deadline for submitting bids is September 29th, and the overall goal of the project is to revitalize tourism in Bahrain by attracting more visitors to the Kingdom. The BTEA aims to boost the tourism sector’s contribution to the national GDP to 11.4% by 2026, while also targeting 14.1 million tourists by the same year.
The public beach and beach club development is expected to not only enhance tourism infrastructure but also attract more tourists to Bahrain, contributing to the growth of the tourism sector. With the goal of increasing the tourism sector’s contribution to the national GDP, the project is a key component of the BTEA’s strategy to position Bahrain as a leading tourist destination in the region. By creating new attractions and amenities, the BTEA aims to draw more visitors and increase tourism revenues in the Kingdom.
By leveraging private sector participation through the tender process, the BTEA is seeking to stimulate investment in the tourism sector and create new opportunities for growth and development. The public beach and beach club project at Bahrain Bay is part of a broader strategy to diversify tourism offerings and enhance the overall visitor experience in the Kingdom. With a focus on attracting a growing number of tourists, the BTEA is committed to driving economic growth through tourism and positioning Bahrain as a premier destination for leisure and recreation.
As part of the BTEA’s efforts to promote tourism in Bahrain, the development of the public beach and beach club at Bahrain Bay represents a significant investment in the future of the Kingdom’s tourism sector. By creating new attractions and amenities, the project aims to attract more visitors and increase tourism revenues, ultimately contributing to the growth of the national economy. Through partnerships with the private sector, the BTEA is able to leverage expertise and resources to enhance the overall tourism infrastructure and position Bahrain as a leading destination in the region.
