The index climbed from 60.35% in 2023 to 70.70% in 2024, showcasing a remarkable increase of 10%. The rise in the index is accompanied by a notable increase in the number of participating agencies, from 13 last year to 35 this year. This indicates the enhanced capacity of government agencies to embrace emerging technologies and drive digital transformation in the Kingdom.

The report highlights progress across various areas of technology adoption, with research capability reaching 72.04%, communication capability hitting 71.88%, integration achieving 67.93%, and proof capability recording 70.84%. These figures reflect advanced levels of development and signify the Kingdom’s commitment to leveraging emerging technologies to enhance services for citizens, residents, and visitors. The adoption of emergent technologies has led to significant advancements in various fields, including drones improving operational efficiency in aerial photography and real estate imaging, augmented and virtual reality technologies enhancing digital experiences for individuals with special needs, digital twinning of industrial cities enabling accurate asset inventory, and firefighting robots reducing physical losses.

One of the notable advancements highlighted in the report is the Ameen – Digital Human serving over 36,000 customers monthly, showcasing the impact of advanced technologies in streamlining services and improving customer experience. Additionally, the Anaam Shain app has facilitated secure management of livestock data, while firefighting robots have reduced physical losses by up to 50%. These initiatives demonstrate the tangible benefits of embracing emergent technologies in government services and underscore the Kingdom’s commitment to innovation and digital transformation.

The digital twinning of industrial cities has played a crucial role in improving asset inventory for 22 out of 36 industrial cities, showcasing the practical applications of advanced technologies in enhancing operational efficiency and resource management. The advancements in drones, augmented reality, virtual reality, and other emergent technologies have not only improved the quality of services but have also contributed to reducing time, effort, and physical losses. This signifies a significant step forward in the Kingdom’s journey towards a digital future and underscores the importance of leveraging technology to drive innovation and improve service delivery.

The Kingdom’s digital government is at the forefront of embracing emergent technologies to enhance services and improve the quality of life for its citizens, residents, and visitors. The notable improvements in the performance index for government agencies in Emerging Technologies Adoption highlight the progress made in adopting advanced technologies and driving digital transformation.
