The 33rd Arab League summit, held in Manama, Bahrain, has drawn attention to the crisis in Gaza on a global scale, with leaders and officials calling for international protection and peacekeeping forces in the occupied Palestinian territories until a two-state solution is achieved. The summit denounced Israel’s actions in obstructing ceasefire initiatives and escalating military actions in the Gaza Strip, despite warnings of humanitarian consequences. Chinese President Xi Jinping commended Bahrain for hosting the summit and reaffirmed China’s commitment to collaborating with Arab nations for the peaceful development of the Middle East.

The Arab League summit embraced calls for an international conference under UN auspices to resolve the Palestinian issue through a two-state solution, further highlighting the importance of joint Arab action and peace as a strategic necessity. The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, reiterated Bahrain’s support for initiatives to address regional stability and development in collaboration with Arab states and the Arab League. Support for ending the Gaza conflict and joint Arab action was echoed by leaders from the region and abroad, including the Amir of Qatar.

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, emphasized the need for collective action to halt Israeli military escalation in Gaza, highlighting the serious violations taking place. Ahmed Aboul El Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab League, commended the high attendance at the summit as a reflection of the Arab countries’ respect for Bahrain and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The summit was held in a calm atmosphere without any disagreements, showcasing the unity among the Arab nations in addressing the crisis in Gaza.

The successful organization of the 33rd Arab League summit in Manama has not only shed light on the crisis in Gaza but has also highlighted the importance of international cooperation and peacekeeping efforts in the region. The summit’s denouncement of Israel’s actions in obstructing ceasefire initiatives and escalating military aggression in Gaza underscores the urgent need for a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue. The support from global leaders, ministers, and officials for Bahrain’s proactive role in addressing the Gaza conflict reflects a united front towards achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s commendation of Bahrain’s hosting of the summit and commitment to collaborating with Arab nations further strengthens the ties between China and the Arab League. The emphasis on joint Arab action and peace as a strategic necessity, as reiterated by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, underscores the importance of unity and cooperation in addressing regional challenges. The support from leaders such as the Amir of Qatar and statements from Secretary Generals of organizations like the GCC and the Arab League affirm the collective efforts to end the crisis in Gaza and promote peace in the region.
