Amid rising temperatures in Sharjah, authorities offered free medical checkups for over 3,300 construction workers as part of a heat exhaustion prevention campaign. The initiative, titled ‘your safety is our goal’, is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs, along with partners from various sectors. The campaign aims to target 6,000 workers in different regions of Sharjah by August 15, providing examinations, awareness lectures, symbolic gifts, and first-aid training courses.

The current campaign covered areas such as Al Hamriyah city, Al Dhaid, Kalba University, and various cultural and sports clubs. The initiative seeks to enhance the quality of life for workers and residents in Sharjah, especially during the summer months. Mohamed Abdul Allah Al Zarooni, Director of the Ministry’s Representative Office in Sharjah, highlighted that the programme offers preventive guidance, necessary supplies, free medical examinations, and health consultations for early detection and treatment of heat-related symptoms.

Eman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Promotion Department at the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs, emphasized the commitment of all partners to improving the quality of life and promoting public health within the community. The initiative not only focuses on providing medical assistance but also aims to raise awareness and educate workers about the importance of staying safe during extreme heat conditions. With the support of government, local, and private sectors, the campaign seeks to create a safer environment for workers and residents in Sharjah.

As part of the campaign, authorities distributed symbolic gifts and conducted first-aid training courses to equip workers with essential knowledge and tools to handle heat-related emergencies. The collaborative effort of various organizations in Sharjah reflects a shared commitment to prioritize the well-being of workers and residents during the summer. By providing free medical checkups and health consultations, the initiative aims to detect and address potential health issues caused by extreme heat, ensuring early intervention and treatment for affected individuals.

The heat exhaustion prevention campaign in Sharjah serves as a proactive approach towards safeguarding the health and well-being of construction workers and residents during the sweltering summer months. The Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs, along with other partners, are working collectively to address the challenges posed by high temperatures and ensure a safe and healthy environment for all. By offering free medical examinations, preventive guidance, and educational initiatives, the campaign aims to raise awareness and empower individuals to take necessary precautions when working or living in hot conditions.

By prioritizing the health and safety of workers, the initiative in Sharjah sends a strong message about the importance of community well-being and public health. The collaborative efforts of government, local, and private sectors showcase a commitment to creating a supportive and protective environment for workers in Sharjah. Through initiatives like free medical checkups and health consultations, authorities aim to promote a culture of safety and proactive health management, ultimately benefiting the entire community.
