First group of pilgrims from India kick off Hajj season

Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, the Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, is gearing up for the annual Hajj season as the first batch of 283 pilgrims from India arrived on Thursday. This marks the beginning of the pilgrimage season, where thousands of pilgrims travel to Saudi Arabia to perform their religious duties. Minister Al-Jasser, in line with the directives of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is committed to ensuring a smooth and fulfilling Hajj experience for all pilgrims.

The minister emphasized the importance of the transport and logistics sector in providing a seamless journey for the pilgrims. With extensive resources deployed to support the influx of pilgrims, this year’s operations include 7,700 flights across six airports and over 27,000 buses to facilitate movement throughout the pilgrimage. In addition, pilgrims have access to the Haramain High-Speed Railway and the Al-Mashaaer Al-Mugaddassah Metro Line, with over 5,000 trips scheduled during the Hajj season to aid pilgrims in efficiently completing their rituals.
