Saudi Arabia’s date exports have seen a significant increase in value during the first quarter of 2024, reaching SR644 million. This marks a 13.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023, when the value of exports was SR566 million. The National Center for Palms and Dates has reported that the ratio of Saudi Arabia’s date exports to countries such as Austria, Norway, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, and Canada has exceeded 100%.

Notable increases in the value of date exports have been seen in various countries, with exports to Morocco increasing by 69%, Indonesia by 61%, South Korea by 41%, and the UK by 33%. The US recorded a 29% increase in the value of Saudi date exports, while Malaysia saw an increase of 16%. These increases can be attributed to the unwavering support from the Saudi government for the palm and dates sector.

The National Center for Palms and Dates is actively working to make Saudi dates the preferred choice for global consumers. They are partnering with the private sector to increase exports of dates and their derivatives by streamlining export procedures and offering necessary marketing services for the sector. This collaborative effort aims to boost the competitiveness of Saudi dates in the international market.

The increase in Saudi Arabia’s date exports reflects the country’s commitment to promoting its agricultural products on the global stage. Dates are a significant part of Saudi Arabia’s agricultural industry, and the government’s support for the sector has led to notable growth in exports. By focusing on partnerships with the private sector and improving export procedures, Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a major player in the global date market.

The rise in exports of Saudi dates to various countries highlights the growing demand for this popular fruit worldwide. With increases in exports to countries such as Morocco, Indonesia, South Korea, the UK, the US, and Malaysia, Saudi dates are becoming increasingly popular among consumers globally. This trend is expected to continue as the National Center for Palms and Dates continues its efforts to promote Saudi dates internationally.

Overall, the increase in Saudi Arabia’s date exports during the first quarter of 2024 is a positive sign for the country’s agricultural sector. With rising demand for Saudi dates in various countries, the government’s support for the palm and dates sector is paying off. By working closely with the private sector and focusing on streamlining export procedures, Saudi Arabia is well-positioned to further grow its presence in the global date market and establish itself as a leading exporter of this popular fruit.
