Exploring ways to enhance bilateral cooperation at the Oman-Kuwait Business Forum

The Oman-Kuwait Business and Investment Forum held in Kuwait discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, highlighted the shared commercial partnerships between Oman and Kuwait, stating that the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will help strengthen joint action to develop a vibrant economy. Al Yousef emphasized the importance of trade and investment cooperation in priority sectors to create employment opportunities and promote sustainable development in both countries, aligning with Oman Vision 2040 and Kuwait Vision 2035.

Eng. Omar Saud Al Omar, Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry, mentioned the remarkable development in economic relations between Oman and Kuwait in recent years, stating that the forum would activate strategic cooperation in trade and investment. The forum served as a platform for exchanging visions, ideas, and investment opportunities while developing joint recommendations and building a better framework for trade and investments. Oman presented two visual displays during the forum, showcasing investments and opportunities, while Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) also made a presentation.

The forum aimed to open up new avenues of cooperation and investment in sectors such as logistics, tourism, industry, food security, and converting industries. The agreements and memorandums of understanding signed by both countries are expected to lead to further growth and sustainable development in the private sector. By aligning with Oman Vision 2040 and Kuwait Vision 2035, the forum emphasized the importance of working together to achieve common goals in trade, industry, and investment, ultimately benefiting both nations and their economies.

The forum provided a platform for both countries to discuss and explore opportunities for enhancing cooperation and investment in priority sectors. With a focus on trade, industry, and investment, the discussions centered around ways to overcome challenges that Omani firms may face when entering the Kuwaiti market.
