The Digital Transformation event organized by the Bahrain Chamber of Chartered Accountants of India was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Vinod K. Jacob, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the event, Ambassador Jacob highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for balanced regulation in the use of technology and the need for global digital governance. He also emphasized the importance of India sharing its digital public infrastructure with the world. The Indian Embassy in Bahrain has been actively promoting digital services for the benefit of both Bahrainis and Indian nationals.

One of the key digital initiatives undertaken by the Indian Embassy in Bahrain is the EoIBh CONNECT consular service appointment application, which has facilitated over 70,000 appointments since its launch in March 2023. Additionally, a new digital fee collection kiosk at the Indian Embassy has streamlined the fee collection process and promoted a digital-centric approach to transactions. These initiatives aim to enhance the overall consular services provided to the community in Bahrain.

Another important initiative mentioned by Ambassador Jacob is the DEKHO APNA DESH and “Focus State/Union Territory” initiatives, which encourage public participation through digital platforms for promoting tourism and the “One District, One Product” campaign. These initiatives not only foster cultural exchange between India and Bahrain but also strengthen economic ties between the two countries. By leveraging digital platforms, the Indian Embassy is able to connect with a wider audience and promote mutual collaboration in various sectors.

The ongoing collaboration between financial institutions like ICICI Bank and Sadad in implementing digital solutions at the Indian Embassy premises reflects the commitment to adopting innovative practices for efficient service delivery. Through digital fee collection kiosks and online appointment systems, the Indian Embassy is able to provide a more convenient and streamlined experience for users. This digital transformation not only enhances operational efficiency but also reflects a commitment to embracing technology for the benefit of the community.

The Indian Embassy’s efforts to promote digital initiatives in Bahrain align with the broader vision of enhancing bilateral relations and fostering socio-economic development. By leveraging digital platforms and innovative solutions, the Embassy is able to reach a wider audience and provide more accessible services to the community. These digital initiatives also contribute to the overall goal of strengthening the partnership between India and Bahrain and promoting mutual cooperation in various sectors.

Overall, the focus on digital transformation by the Indian Embassy in Bahrain underscores the importance of leveraging technology to enhance service delivery and promote bilateral cooperation. By embracing digital solutions and innovative practices, the Embassy is able to create a more connected and efficient ecosystem for both Bahrainis and Indian nationals. As digitalization continues to reshape the way we interact and conduct business, initiatives like EoIBh CONNECT and digital fee collection kiosks represent concrete steps towards a more digitally inclusive and collaborative future.
