The Ministry of Education in Bahrain has announced that all schools in the Kingdom will be closed on May 15th and 16th due to the Arab Summit. This decision will affect public schools, private schools, higher education institutions, and even nurseries and kindergartens. The purpose of these holidays is to provide students with dedicated study and preparation time for upcoming exams.

In public schools, the secondary school exams that were originally scheduled for May 15th and 16th will be rescheduled. A revised exam schedule will be published soon by the Ministry. On those two days, all levels of students – primary, preparatory, and secondary – will have the opportunity to focus on studying and preparing for their finals. Regular classes will resume for secondary and preparatory students on Sunday, May 19th.

Private schools have been given the flexibility to reschedule lessons or exams on May 15th and 16th. Students will have the option to make up any missed work the following week. Each school will communicate directly with students and parents regarding their chosen approach. Public and private universities and colleges will also reschedule classes or exams on those two days, with regular operations resuming on May 19th.

Students attending international exams are exempt from these adjustments if rescheduling is not possible. In this case, they should follow their original schedules and utilize alternative routes provided by the Ministry of Interior during the Summit. Nurseries and kindergartens will be closed on May 15th and 16th, and parents are advised to confirm arrangements with their child’s school.

The Ministry of Education has emphasized that these changes prioritize the needs of students and parents by offering flexibility during the Arab Summit. This decision is aimed at helping students prepare for their exams while also ensuring their safety and well-being during this time. By rescheduling exams and classes, schools and universities are able to accommodate the demands of the Summit while still maintaining the educational needs of their students.

Overall, these adjustments in school schedules are being made to ensure that students are able to adequately prepare for their exams and benefit from additional study time. With the support of the Ministry of Education, schools and universities are working to create a conducive environment for students to succeed academically during this period. By providing flexibility and understanding, the Ministry is demonstrating its commitment to the education and well-being of all students in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
