Ashghal, the Public Works Authority in Doha, Qatar, has recently announced a temporary road closure at the underpass of Education City Interchange. The closure will affect the stretch of road from Al Gharrafa Street and Huwar Street to traffic coming from Al Rayyan towards Al Gharrafa. However, the other direction of the underpass, as well as the intersections and parallel service roads, will remain open to traffic during this time. The closure is scheduled to take place on August 2 and 3, 2024, with specific timings of Friday from 2am to 10am and Saturday from 2am to 7pm.

This road closure is being implemented in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, and alternative routes have been designated for drivers to follow. To assist motorists in navigating the area during the closure, a map outlining the detour routes will be provided to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. It is crucial for drivers to adhere to the designated diversion routes and follow traffic instructions to minimize disruptions and ensure safety for all road users. Ashghal aims to complete the necessary maintenance work efficiently and promptly to minimize inconvenience to the public.

The temporary closure of the underpass at Education City Interchange is part of Ashghal’s ongoing efforts to enhance and maintain Qatar’s road infrastructure. By conducting essential maintenance and repair works in a timely manner, Ashghal aims to ensure the safety and efficiency of the road network for all users. The closure period has been strategically planned to minimize impact on traffic flow, with alternative routes and guidance provided to facilitate smooth movement during the specified timings.

Drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow for extra travel time to accommodate any potential delays caused by the road closure. By being aware of the scheduled closure and following the designated detour routes, motorists can help mitigate congestion and ensure a safe and efficient commute through the affected area. Additionally, staying informed about upcoming road closures and construction projects can help drivers make informed decisions about their travel routes and timings, ultimately contributing to a more seamless transportation experience.

As Qatar continues to develop and expand its infrastructure to support its growing population and economy, maintenance and improvement works are essential to uphold the quality and safety of the road network. Ashghal remains committed to implementing these works efficiently and effectively, taking into account the needs of motorists and residents to minimize disruptions while enhancing the overall transportation system. By following traffic regulations, staying informed about road closures, and cooperating with authorities during construction activities, the public can contribute to the success of these infrastructure projects and ensure a reliable and sustainable road network for the future.
