The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has successfully widened Al Khail Road at two locations, resulting in a significant alleviation of traffic congestion by up to 25%. The widening works were carried out in Al Jaddaf and Business Bay, with the addition of a new lane in Al Jaddaf to improve traffic flow towards Deira. In addition, the entrance to Business Bay has also been widened to facilitate smoother traffic movement.

Al Khail Road is considered a crucial traffic corridor in Dubai, and the recent enhancements by the RTA have significantly increased the road’s capacity by approximately 2,000 vehicles per hour. This increase in capacity, along with the addition of a new lane in Al Jaddaf, has successfully reduced congestion by 25%. Hamad Al Shehhi, the director of Roads at Traffic and Roads Agency, emphasized the importance of these improvements in improving traffic flow and safety in the area.

The surface expansion at the entrance to Business Bay is expected to further enhance traffic flow entering the area from Al Khail Road and improve traffic safety in that sector towards Abu Dhabi. The ongoing Al Khail Road Improvement Project is set to bring further improvements at several locations along the road and is scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2024. These developments aim to enhance the overall traffic efficiency and safety in the region.

The widening of Al Khail Road in Al Jaddaf and Business Bay is a crucial step towards addressing the growing traffic congestion in Dubai. By adding new lanes and increasing road capacity, the RTA has successfully reduced congestion by as much as 25%. These improvements are part of the larger Al Khail Road Improvement Project, which is set to bring further enhancements to several locations along the road, ultimately improving traffic efficiency and safety in the area.

The RTA’s efforts to widen Al Khail Road at key locations demonstrate a commitment to improving the city’s infrastructure and addressing traffic congestion. The addition of a new lane in Al Jaddaf and the expanded entrance to Business Bay have already shown significant improvements in traffic flow and congestion reduction. With further developments planned as part of the Al Khail Road Improvement Project, residents and commuters can expect continued enhancements to the road network in Dubai.

In conclusion, the recent widening of Al Khail Road in Al Jaddaf and Business Bay by the RTA has effectively reduced traffic congestion by up to 25% and increased road capacity by 2,000 vehicles per hour. These improvements are part of the Al Khail Road Improvement Project, which aims to enhance traffic flow and safety along the corridor. By prioritizing infrastructure enhancements, the RTA is contributing to a more efficient and safer transportation network in Dubai.
