As the peak travel season in Dubai approached, residents have been heeding the advisory from authorities by arriving at the airport at least four hours before their flights. By beating check-in queues, many have found themselves with extra time to relax at the lounges, especially when flights are delayed. This proactive approach has allowed travelers like Mohammed Omar to remain calm, despite receiving a message about his delayed flight to Dabolim Airport in Goa. The additional time at the airport has provided a chance for Omar to unwind and ease any last-minute travel anxiety.

Dubai International (DXB) was projected to experience a surge in traffic during the weekend of July 12-14, with an estimated 840,000 travelers passing through the terminals. July 13 was anticipated to be the busiest day, with 286,000 passengers expected. To accommodate the high volume of travelers during the peak period, the airport is handling around 274,000 individuals daily on average. Travelers have been advised to leave home well in advance to avoid traffic congestion, long lines, and extended security checks.

Some travelers, like Mohammed Shareef, have experienced flight delays but have found arriving early beneficial due to heavy rush at the airport. Shareef was prepared for his trip to Kozhikode by arriving at the airport early, giving him time to relax before his delayed flight. Newlyweds Mohammed Elshami and Aya Kamal also saw their flight to Cyprus delayed but viewed it as an opportunity to extend their time at the airport. Despite the delays, they remained excited about their vacation plans.

In preparation for their upcoming trips, some residents have already packed their bags well in advance to avoid any last-minute travel anxiety. Traveler Jamie Hassan, who will be flying to Spain from Dubai, has planned his departure from Abu Dhabi well in advance to ensure a stress-free journey. He emphasized the importance of leaving early to reach the airport ahead of time and avoid any potential delays.

For travelers looking to ensure a smooth travel experience during the peak season, there are some key tips to follow. Utilizing home, early, and self-check-in options, as well as online services, can help streamline the check-in process. Familiarizing oneself with baggage allowances and packing regulations can prevent surprises at the airport. Taking precautions when going through security, such as placing metal items in hand luggage and following guidelines for liquids, aerosols, and gels, can save time. Families with children over 12 can also expedite passport control using smart gates. Staying updated on travel regulations and organizing necessary documents in advance are also essential for a hassle-free journey. Additionally, packing essentials like spare batteries and power banks in hand luggage, bidding farewells at home, using public transport like the Metro to avoid road congestion, and following transportation guidelines between terminals can further enhance the travel experience during peak times.
