During the Eid Al Adha holidays, Dubai Municipality has allocated 3,150 field supervisors and sanitation engineers to ensure the emirate remains clean. This initiative is part of the municipality’s plan to manage public cleanliness operations and community services in various areas during the extended holiday period. Efforts include implementing technical programs, creating work plans, and coordinating field activities to cover all roads, highways, residential areas, markets, public beaches, waterways, and public facilities. A total of 2,300km of roads will be monitored and cleaned as part of this massive program.

The municipality’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in public services, especially during special occasions and holidays, is evident through these efforts. With a workforce of 250 supervisory and control staff overseeing basic cleaning duties and a team of 2,250 sanitation engineers across Dubai, the municipality is well-prepared for the holiday season. A four-shift system will be in place, with necessary resources provided for cleaning operations. Additionally, a group of 650 cleaning engineers from the private sector will supervise cleaning operations in tourist, industrial, and desert areas.

A field team of seven supervisors and 84 sanitation engineers will operate in a three-shift system daily to clean public beaches during the holidays. Eight beaches, including Corniche Al Mamzar, Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, Umm Suqeim 1, Umm Suqeim 2, and Jebel Ali, will be reserved exclusively for families. The municipality will also allocate a 140-member safety and rescue team to enhance beach safety during this period. Furthermore, nine inspectors and field supervisors will ensure cleanliness in investment areas and monitor real estate development companies’ compliance with approved work systems.

For main roads spanning 2,300km, the municipality has assigned a dedicated team of 155 sanitation engineers and 10 supervisory and monitoring personnel to maintain cleanliness in four separate shifts. Operational strategies have been put in place to address emergencies and ensure the hygiene of main roads and highways. Resources have been allocated for waste collection, transportation, and prompt cleaning of accident sites along external roads and highways. A fleet of 759 automated vehicles will carry out different routine field operations and respond to emergencies during the holidays.

Dubai Municipality will work around the clock to ensure general cleanliness operations, scheduling and controlling landfills, waste disposal locations, and treatment facilities. Al Qusais landfill and Bayada landfill will operate continuously during the holidays, as will the medical waste incinerator at Jebel Ali Hazardous Waste Treatment Plant and the control room at Warsan waste-to-energy conversion facility. The municipality has streamlined access to services through its website, allowing the public to request permits for hazardous waste disposal, contracting with waste collection companies, securing no-objection certificates for projects, and more.

To maintain cleanliness in the emirate, Dubai Municipality urges the public to adhere to guidelines like refraining from barbecuing on green areas, preventing littering in public places, and ensuring proper waste disposal. Services for collecting bulk waste will be temporarily discontinued on the first day of Eid Al Adha and resume in the following days. By working together and following guidelines, residents and visitors can contribute to preserving Dubai’s cleanliness during the holiday season.
