Dubai: More than 18,000 inspections conducted at supermarkets and hotels in the first half of 2024

Dubai Municipality has been busy conducting food safety inspections in the city, with over 18,000 inspections taking place in the first half of 2024. These inspections cover various sectors such as restaurants, hotels, cafes, commercial centers, hypermarkets, and supermarkets. The main goal of these inspections is to ensure that all establishments are following the necessary standards in terms of consumer products, food safety, health, safety, general health, and environmental standards.

The inspection campaigns also extend to other areas such as shisha cafes, hair salons, beauty centers, worker’s houses, and societal markets across Dubai. This comprehensive approach shows Dubai Municipality’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents and visitors. With a focus on food, environment, and safety sectors, the municipality aims to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality of life in the Emirate.

Dr. Naseem Mohammad Rafee, Acting CEO of Environment, Health & Safety Agency at Dubai Municipality, emphasizes the importance of continuous monitoring and development of these sectors. The municipality strives to provide a supportive infrastructure for businesses and initiatives while ensuring strict compliance with all laws, regulations, and guidelines in Dubai and the UAE. This proactive approach demonstrates the municipality’s dedication to creating a safe and thriving environment for all.

In addition to food safety inspections, Dubai Municipality has also conducted a total of 52,233 inspections in the fields of environment, health, and food during the first half of 2024. These inspections cover a wide range of areas including hotel facilities, shisha cafes, hair salons, worker’s houses, maritime environments, nature reserves, industrial facilities, abattoirs, veterinary organizations, and pest control companies. This extensive oversight ensures that all aspects of public health and safety are being monitored and maintained to the highest standards.

By carrying out a significant number of inspection visits, Dubai Municipality is demonstrating its commitment to upholding the safety and well-being of the community. The municipality’s health and safety teams have conducted over 26,000 inspection visits through various campaigns aimed at different facilities and organizations.
