In response to the unstable weather conditions in Dubai, the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has temporarily suspended accepting requests for the entry and departure of wooden dhows in the area. This decision aims to protect maritime stakeholders from the effects of the low-pressure system on sea conditions. The PCFC has advised stakeholders to avoid sailing during this time to ensure everyone’s safety.

The PCFC, through the Marine Agency for Wooden Dhows, operates a pre-booking system for all wooden dhows and has informed shipping agents, vessel owners, and stakeholders about the expected weather conditions. In case of an emergency, communication with the control tower is encouraged for immediate action. The PCFC is prepared to provide safe berths for over 500 vessels in such situations and is ready to receive ships in emergency cases if needed.

The Marine Agency has followed approved safety procedures for dhows and crew in light of the weather forecasts for the week. The PCFC Call Centre is fully prepared to receive phone calls and reports of emergencies from stakeholders 24/7. The Call Centre can be reached at 800990 and offers support in four different languages. It is essential for stakeholders to stay updated with the latest news and developments related to the weather conditions.

In times of unstable weather conditions, it is crucial for maritime stakeholders to prioritize safety and follow the guidelines and advisories provided by authorities. The temporary suspension of accepting requests for wooden dhows’ entry and departure is a preventive measure to protect everyone involved in maritime activities in Dubai. By staying informed and following safety protocols, maritime stakeholders can minimize risks and ensure their well-being during challenging weather conditions.

The PCFC’s proactive approach in handling weather-related challenges demonstrates its commitment to the safety and security of maritime activities in Dubai. The organization’s readiness to provide support and assistance to stakeholders in emergency situations highlights its dedication to maintaining a safe and efficient maritime environment. By working together and adhering to safety protocols, maritime stakeholders can effectively navigate through unstable weather conditions and mitigate potential risks.

As weather conditions can change rapidly, stakeholders are encouraged to remain vigilant and stay connected with updates from relevant authorities. By following the instructions and guidelines provided by the PCFC and other regulatory bodies, maritime stakeholders can contribute to maintaining a safe and secure maritime environment in Dubai. In times of uncertainty, effective communication and cooperation among all stakeholders are essential to ensure the well-being of everyone involved in maritime activities.
