Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, a Dubai billionaire and philanthropist, has proposed the establishment of a fund to support mothers in the UAE, recognizing their critical role in raising the future generation. He pledged to contribute up to Dh100 million to this fund during an ‘Open Talk with Khalaf Al Habtoor’ at his company’s head office. Al Habtoor emphasized the importance of prioritizing the care of young children and the need for both parents to play a crucial role in their upbringing to protect them from the dangers of the modern era.

In addition to his support for mothers, Al Habtoor has shown philanthropic efforts in various areas. This includes offering psychological and physical treatment to children who were sexually abused in Lebanon, providing financial support to repair Emirati homes damaged in record rains in the UAE, and supporting female Afghan students in Dubai who were prohibited from attending universities in their home country. These actions highlight Al Habtoor’s commitment to making a positive impact on society through his philanthropy.

During the Open Talk session, Dr Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Haddad, grand mufti at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, emphasized the role of mothers in raising great men and advised against leaving children to babysitters. Col Abdulrahman Sharaf Almamari from the Dubai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Department emphasized the importance of parents listening to their children and spending quality time with them, rather than excessive internet use, to prevent negative influences on children.

Dr Abdulkhaleq Abdulla, a professor of political science, expressed confidence in the youth of today leading society towards a safe future. He highlighted the capabilities of young people to carry out tasks responsibly and contribute positively to society. This collective effort towards supporting mothers, prioritizing child care, and fostering the potential of the youth reflects a shared commitment to building a better future for the UAE and its community. By recognizing the importance of family values and investing in the well-being of children, the UAE sets a strong foundation for a prosperous and thriving society.
