The hospitality scene in Oman is set to receive a major boost with the signing of the Club Med Musandam project, marking the debut of the first Club Med Resort in the Middle East. This exclusive resort, located on the stunning shores of the Musandam Peninsula, is a collaboration between Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group), Club Med, and Royal Court Affairs. The signing event, held in Muscat, was attended by senior officials and marked OMRAN Group’s commitment to boosting Oman’s economy and promoting tourism through sustainable projects.

Club Med Musandam is strategically located just a 5-minute boat ride away from Khasab city in the extreme northeast of the Arabian Gulf. The resort is expected to add 300 rooms to Oman’s hospitality portfolio, with a strong Omani cultural influence evident in its interior design, entertainment options, and culinary offerings. Dr. Hashil Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of OMRAN Group, expressed excitement about the partnership with Club Med and the opportunities it brings to Oman’s tourism sector. He highlighted Oman’s natural beauty, rich traditions, and genuine hospitality as assets that the partnership aims to showcase on a global scale.

Club Med, known for offering unique holiday experiences since 1950, selected Musandam for its first resort in the Middle East, emphasizing Oman’s unique tourism potential. Henri Giscard d’Estaing, CEO of Club Med, underscored the importance of the Club Med Musandam project as a milestone for the brand’s presence in the Middle East. With an investment exceeding USD 100 million, Club Med Musandam is set to become another landmark in OMRAN Group’s efforts to expand its hospitality assets and tourism destinations, while generating job opportunities and sustainable growth in Oman.

The partnership between OMRAN Group and Club Med reflects a commitment to enriching tourism experiences in Oman and attracting top-tier hospitality operators who share a common vision. By leveraging the stunning natural assets of Musandam, the partners aim to enhance Oman’s tourism sector and highlight the country’s beauty, tranquility, and warm hospitality to a global audience. The collaboration also aligns with Club Med’s history of contributing to the development of regions where it operates, emphasizing the potential for positive economic and social impact through the Club Med Musandam project.

The official signing of the Club Med Musandam project is a significant step in Oman’s efforts to boost tourism and economic growth through sustainable projects. The debut of the first Club Med Resort in the Middle East highlights Oman’s appeal as a tourism destination and sets the stage for showcasing the country’s natural beauty, rich traditions, and warm hospitality to a global audience. With its strategic location, unique cultural influences, and commitment to sustainability, Club Med Musandam is poised to become a key player in enhancing Oman’s hospitality sector and driving in-country value through job creation and sustainable growth.
