The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) has recently signed a financing agreement with Teach For Qatar to support the 2024 Summer Institute. This agreement aims to empower participants to enter the education field as full-time teachers by providing funding for the six-week training and activities. The collaboration between DAAM and Teach For Qatar reflects their commitment to supporting social activities in Qatar, in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The 2024 Summer Institute will include a new batch of 120 Fellows and 60 Fellows from the 2023 Cohort. These participants will receive exceptional training in leadership and education, attend various workshops, and receive individual support sessions. The training will also include practice teaching at Camp Qatar, where participants will implement their newly acquired skills in a real-world setting. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of education in Qatar and create positive change in classrooms, schools, and society.

Teach For Qatar, a local non-governmental organisation founded by H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani in 2014, plays a crucial role in addressing the challenges faced by Qatar’s students. By attracting exceptionally talented leaders and placing them in the government school system, Teach For Qatar aims to make a difference in the education sector. To date, the organisation has had 317 Fellows who have taught Arabic, English, mathematics, and science to over 40,800 students in primary and preparatory stages.

Since its establishment in 2010, the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) has been involved in various projects and initiatives in the cultural, sports, and social domains. The funding provided by joint stock companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange has been instrumental in supporting the Fund’s activities, making them a key partner in community development. This collaboration highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in driving positive social impact and sustainable development in Qatar.

The 2024 Summer Institute is a part of Teach For Qatar’s efforts to improve the quality of education and provide opportunities for professional growth in the teaching sector. By working closely with partners like DAAM and other joint stock companies, Teach For Qatar aims to continue making a difference in the lives of students and teachers in Qatar. This partnership underscores the shared commitment to supporting social initiatives and achieving the goals set out in the Qatar National Vision 2030.

In conclusion, the collaboration between the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) and Teach For Qatar is a testament to their shared commitment to promoting education and social development in Qatar. The 2024 Summer Institute will provide valuable training and support to participants, empowering them to become effective teachers and make a positive impact in the education sector. By working together, these organizations are contributing to the achievement of Qatar’s long-term development goals and creating a brighter future for the country’s students.
