The Ministry of Works in Bahrain has announced the launch of a new infrastructure project aimed at enhancing the country’s road network. Engineer Ahmed Sami Al Tajer, Assistant Undersecretary for Roads, revealed that the project will involve the construction of a new road connecting Al Hunainiya Street and Al Muaskar Street in the Southern Governorate. This initiative is part of the government’s program objectives for 2023-2026 and is intended to improve traffic flow and support the Kingdom’s development goals. The new road will consist of two lanes in each direction, covering a distance of 3.4 kilometers.

In addition to connecting Al Hunainiya Street to Al Muaskar Street, the new road will also feature intersections, sidewalks, and a rainwater drainage network. Furthermore, improvements will be made to street lighting, traffic safety measures, and the infrastructure for treated water, which will support afforestation and irrigation efforts. The project is expected to relieve congestion in the Al Hunainiya area, East Riffa, and surrounding regions, benefiting residents of the Al Hunainiya housing project and various local service institutions.

The scope of the project will include creating intersections, installing sidewalks, and establishing a rainwater drainage network. Additionally, enhancements will be made to street lighting, traffic safety measures, and infrastructure for treated water to support afforestation and irrigation efforts. The road is expected to alleviate congestion in the Al Hunainiya area, East Riffa, and nearby regions. It will benefit residents of the Al Hunainiya housing project and several local service institutions. The tender for the project has been awarded to Al-Dur Excavation and Construction Company.

The new road connecting Al Hunainiya Street and Al Muaskar Street in the Southern Governorate of Bahrain will be a key infrastructure project that will greatly improve traffic flow in the region. Designed to support the country’s development goals, the project will also provide numerous benefits to residents and local service institutions in the area. With two lanes in each direction spanning a distance of 3.4 kilometers, the road will play a crucial role in enhancing connectivity between major routes in the Southern Governorate.

The project is expected to have a significant impact on the area by alleviating congestion and improving overall traffic conditions. By creating intersections, sidewalks, and a rainwater drainage network, the road will not only facilitate smoother traffic transitions but also enhance the overall infrastructure of the region. Additionally, the improvements in street lighting, traffic safety measures, and water infrastructure will further contribute to the development and sustainability of the area.

Overall, the construction of the new road in Bahrain is a significant step towards enhancing the country’s infrastructure and supporting its growth objectives. By addressing key issues such as traffic congestion and improving connectivity, the project will create a more efficient and sustainable transportation network in the Southern Governorate.
