The Ministry of Works in Bahrain has announced a new infrastructure project aimed at enhancing the safety of key bridges across the country. This initiative will involve the replacement and installation of new safety barriers on five critical bridges located in various governorates, including the Sehla Interchange, Al Jasra Intersection, Tubli Intersection (Bahrain Map Intersection), Wadi Al Sail Intersection Bridge, and Umm Al Hassam Intersection. The primary goal of this project is to improve traffic safety and reduce the risk of accidents on these important bridges and intersections.

The Ministry of Works emphasized that these activities are crucial for maintaining and upgrading Bahrain’s road network. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of providing citizens and residents with a safe and efficient transportation infrastructure. The strategy includes regular and proactive preventive maintenance to ensure the safety and high quality of the country’s roads.

The project will involve replacing the existing concrete barriers with new ones and installing high-containment steel barriers along the slopes of the five bridges. In total, approximately 14 kilometers of new safety barriers will be installed across the targeted bridge locations. The contract for this project has been awarded to a consortium comprising the Hajj Hassan Group and Alghanim International, both of which are leading construction and engineering firms with extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure developments.
