In a recent collaboration between the Southern Municipality, the Dar Al Manar Association for Parental Care, and the Southern Municipal Council, a tree planting event took place at the Community Centre in Isa Town. The event saw the planting of 50 seedlings and was attended by various officials, including the Centre’s Board of Directors Chairman Adnan Mohammed Al Maliki and Dar Al Manar Director Moza Nass.

The tree planting event was part of the second phase of the “Sawaed” awareness campaign, which aims to promote environmental and community consciousness. During the event, elderly residents from the centre participated in planting different types of trees, highlighting the importance of environmental preservation. Awareness gifts were also distributed, and participants were honored for their involvement in the initiative.

Launched by the Ministry of Municipal and Agricultural Affairs in collaboration with municipalities and municipal councils, the “Sawaed” campaign focuses on organizing various community partnership events such as planting drives, tree distribution, and coastal cleanups. It also emphasizes the importance of enforcing Cleanliness Law No. 10 of 2019 to ensure proper waste disposal and cleanliness in public spaces.

The goal of the campaign is to engage individuals and institutions in fostering social responsibility and promoting environmental preservation. By involving all age groups and community segments in initiatives that contribute to public cleanliness and proper waste disposal, the campaign aims to enhance the overall aesthetic and cultural appeal of the areas while increasing green cover through afforestation efforts.

Continuing throughout the year, the “Sawaed” awareness campaign aims to promote environmental and urban consciousness for sustainable development in the community. By encouraging active participation from residents and stakeholders, the campaign seeks to make a positive impact on the environment and create a sense of community responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness and preserving natural resources.

Overall, the tree planting event at the Community Centre in Isa Town highlights the importance of community involvement in environmental preservation and sustainable development. Through initiatives like the “Sawaed” campaign, residents are encouraged to take an active role in creating a cleaner and greener environment for future generations to enjoy. With ongoing efforts and partnerships between government entities and community organizations, Bahrain is moving towards a more environmentally conscious and socially responsible future.
