The Cabinet of Qatar has recently approved the establishment of the National Committee on Memory of the World, in line with the Memory of the World Program initiated by Unesco. This committee, to be formed within the Ministry of Culture, aims to protect and preserve the world’s documentary heritage in collaboration with relevant authorities. Additionally, the Cabinet has given the green light for hosting a conference organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization in Doha in 2025 to discuss air transport facilitation.

Furthermore, the Cabinet has taken several measures to enhance cooperation in various fields. This includes ratifying a memorandum of understanding for digital government cooperation between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, revising an agreement on the recognition of higher education studies in Arab countries, and establishing agreements and memorandums of understanding with Nigeria on education, employment, tourism, and public prosecution. Additionally, partnerships have been formed with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to exchange financial investigations related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and other related crimes.

Moreover, the Cabinet has approved a draft basic contribution agreement between Qatar Fund for Development and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs to support the UN Central Emergency Response Fund in 2024. Additionally, a cooperation protocol in journalism and media has been established between Qatar and Nepal. These initiatives reflect Qatar’s commitment to international cooperation and humanitarian assistance.

In conclusion, the recent decisions made by the Cabinet of Qatar highlight the country’s dedication to preserving cultural heritage, promoting international cooperation, and supporting humanitarian efforts. The establishment of the National Committee on Memory of the World and the various agreements and memorandums of understanding demonstrate Qatar’s commitment to collaboration in areas such as digital government, education, tourism, and financial crime prevention. The approval of agreements with countries like Nigeria, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan further solidifies Qatar’s role in enhancing global partnerships for the greater good. Overall, these developments showcase Qatar’s proactive approach to addressing global challenges and fostering positive relationships with nations around the world.
