Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani delivered a powerful speech at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, calling for an end to the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon. The speech received significant attention from Arab and international media outlets, with many praising the Amir’s inclusive and impactful message. The Palestinian community, in particular, welcomed Qatar’s unwavering efforts to stop the ongoing violence and reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

During his speech, the Amir emphasized the urgent need to halt the aggression in Gaza, describing the Israeli attacks as barbaric and heinous. He pointed out that the failure to intervene and stop the violence in Gaza is a major scandal, reiterating Qatar’s commitment to continue mediating for a ceasefire despite Israeli accusations. The Amir also highlighted the plight of the Palestinian people, stating that the Palestinian cause cannot be marginalized and will remain a central issue until the end of the occupation and the realization of Palestinian rights.

The Amir’s speech resonated with audiences worldwide, with media outlets highlighting his bold condemnation of the Israeli war on Gaza as a crime of genocide. He called for the release of prisoners and detainees, a just solution in accordance with international resolutions, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Amir also criticized Israel’s manipulation of wireless communication devices in Lebanon, condemning the country’s indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilians.

The French newspaper Le Parisien and the Arabnews newspaper of Saudi Arabia both reported on the Amir’s strong stance against the Israeli aggression in Gaza, describing it as a genocide. The Italian media, including ANSA and Fatto Quotidiano, also covered the speech, emphasizing the Amir’s call for a ceasefire and his support for the UNRWA. In addition, Egyptian news outlets Al-Qahera News TV and Nile TV broadcasted the Amir’s speech live, underscoring the significance of his message at a crucial time for the Palestinian people.

Political analysts praised the Amir’s speech for accurately reflecting the Palestinian reality, condemning the occupation, and urging for a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue. Dr. Fayez Abu Shamala commended the Amir for holding the international community accountable for the destruction in Gaza and for standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. Dr. Ibrahim Habib noted that the speech highlighted the lack of a genuine peace partner on the Israeli side, challenging previous narratives that blamed the Palestinians for the lack of progress in the peace process.

In conclusion, Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly sent a powerful message to the international community regarding the urgent need to address the ongoing violence in Gaza and southern Lebanon. His call for a ceasefire, release of prisoners, and just solution to the Palestinian issue resonated with audiences around the world, highlighting the enduring importance of the Palestinian cause. By speaking out against injustice and advocating for peace, the Amir demonstrated his leadership and commitment to promoting stability and security in the region.
