Saudi Arabia is gearing up to host Expo 2030 Riyadh, with preparations underway at the highest level. The Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Dimitri Kerkentzis, recently visited Riyadh to review the exhibition and coordinate the registration file for the event. This marks the first official visit since Saudi Arabia was elected as the host country for World Expo 2030 in November 2023. The four-day visit focused on finalizing the Expo implementation plan, including legislative and financial measures, as well as the Expo site master plan and legacy plans. Once the file is submitted to the BIE and reviewed by member states, Expo 2030 Riyadh will be officially registered, allowing Saudi Arabia to invite international participants and begin preparations in earnest.

Kerkentzis praised Saudi Arabia’s commitment to cooperating with the BIE and its member states to ensure a successful Expo 2030 Riyadh. He expressed excitement for the project’s momentum and the next chapter in its development. The exhibition, themed “Era of Change: Together for an Enlightened Tomorrow,” is set to welcome 197 countries and 29 international organizations from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031. The upcoming progress report on Expo 2030 Riyadh will be presented to member states of the BIE during the organization’s 174th General Assembly in June.

The Expo 2030 Riyadh will be an opportunity to showcase Saudi Arabia’s progress and transformation to a global audience. The event aims to bring together countries and organizations to collaborate on creating a brighter future. The Expo’s theme highlights the importance of unity and solidarity in addressing global challenges and driving positive change. Saudi Arabia is committed to ensuring a successful and impactful event that will leave a lasting legacy for the country and its participants. The registration file for Expo 2030 Riyadh will outline the detailed plans and strategies for the event, including the Expo site layout, logistical arrangements, and cultural programs.

The Expo 2030 Riyadh represents a significant milestone for Saudi Arabia and the region, positioning the country as a leader in hosting international events. The event will provide a platform for showcasing Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage, technological advancements, and vision for the future. With the support of the BIE and its member states, Saudi Arabia is working diligently to ensure the success of Expo 2030 Riyadh. The upcoming General Assembly in June will be a key opportunity to update member states on the progress of the event and seek their continued support and collaboration.

The successful registration of Expo 2030 Riyadh will open the doors for Saudi Arabia to invite countries and organizations from around the world to participate in the event.
