The Bahrain Bourse (BHB) recently celebrated the successful completion of the 2023-2024 TradeQuest program by honoring its top finalists at an awards ceremony attended by esteemed guests including the Minister of Industry & Commerce, H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro. Over 190 students from 26 educational institutions participated in the program, along with investment advisors who guided them throughout. The event highlighted the importance of supporting Bahraini youth and their role in economic growth.

TradeQuest serves as a platform for students to gain a deeper understanding of economic principles, analyze market factors, and engage with local and regional news. The program was praised by H.E. Fakhro for providing students with valuable skills and knowledge that will benefit them in future leadership roles within the economy. Bahrain Bourse CEO, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, expressed gratitude for the continued support from government officials and emphasized the program’s success in fostering financial literacy among students.

The TradeQuest program, now in its 25th edition, has established partnerships with various banks, financial institutions, and educational entities to enhance students’ financial literacy and skills. The success of the program can be attributed to the collaboration between Bahrain Bourse and its sponsors, which include prominent organizations such as Tamkeen, Ahli United Bank, and Bank ABC. The participating institutions, including private schools, government schools, and universities, have demonstrated exceptional performance in the competition.

Top achievers in the Private schools category included Ibn Khuldoon National School, Shaikha Hessa Girls’ School, and the British School of Bahrain. In the Government schools category, Al Noaim Secondary Boys School, Isa Town Secondary Girls School, and Ahmed Al Omran Secondary Boys School secured top positions. The Universities category saw Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF), University of Bahrain, and Royal University for Women taking the first three places, respectively.

A total of 20 school teams, comprising private schools, government schools, and universities, participated in this year’s TradeQuest Program. The involvement of educational institutions such as American University of Bahrain, Bahrain Polytechnic, and British University of Bahrain reflects the program’s commitment to providing a comprehensive learning experience for students. Bahrain Bourse extends its gratitude to all sponsors, including strategic, platinum, gold, and silver sponsors, for their generous support and contribution to the program’s success.

TradeQuest offers students a simulation-based education experience that simulates real-life capital market investment scenarios based on regulations implemented at both Bahrain Bourse and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). This hands-on approach allows students to develop analytical and managerial skills while navigating the complexities of financial systems. Through its partnership with Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF), TradeQuest continues to provide a valuable learning opportunity for students interested in capital market investments.
