Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) recently completed a successful visit to the United Kingdom (UK) aimed at promoting investment opportunities in Bahrain. The visit included business meetings and roundtable discussions, with the highlight being the participation in the Newmarket July Festival as part of Bahrain EDB’s partnership with Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC). The festival was attended by high-profile individuals, including His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and H.E. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB.

During the Newmarket July Festival, REHC sponsored three International Group races and hosted existing and potential investors at The Bahrain Trophy, showcasing Bahrain’s unique value proposition and attractive investment environment. H.E. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif expressed pride in the partnership with REHC and highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening economic and commercial ties with the UK. The event provided a valuable platform to connect with high-net-worth companies and individuals and promote Bahrain as a prime investment destination.

Yusuf Buheji, CEO of Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, emphasized the importance of the partnership with Bahrain EDB in showcasing Bahrain at the prestigious Newmarket July Festival. The event allowed for networking opportunities within the racing community and the forging of strategic partnerships with international institutions and companies to further develop Bahrain’s horseracing sector. The visit also included two roundtable discussions focusing on investment opportunities in manufacturing, financial services, and ICT sectors, as well as attracting the right skills for the future of Fintech.

The partnership between REHC and Newmarket Racecourse dates back to 1991 and is a testament to the longstanding economic ties between Bahrain and the UK. Over the years, numerous leading UK companies have established a presence in Bahrain, further solidifying the bilateral commercial and investment relations between the two countries. The visit to the UK by Bahrain EDB and REHC served to strengthen these ties and promote Bahrain as an attractive destination for international investment.

Overall, the visit to the UK by Bahrain EDB and REHC was a success in showcasing the investment opportunities in Bahrain and further enhancing the economic and commercial ties between Bahrain and the UK. The participation in the Newmarket July Festival provided a platform to engage with potential investors and highlight Bahrain’s competitive advantages and business-friendly environment. Both parties expressed their commitment to continuing to promote Bahrain as a prime investment destination across various sectors and markets, further solidifying the Kingdom’s international recognition as a leading horseracing and equestrian destination.
