ApeCoin DAO, the decentralized autonomous organization behind ApeCoin, is considering a proposal to create a Bored Ape-themed luxury hotel in Bangkok. The plan, put forth by a member named DeSmart, involves renovating an existing hotel in downtown Bangkok to feature APE-inspired rooms, a themed bar, and a swimming pool. To fund this project, DeSmart is seeking $356,000 worth of APE tokens. The goal is to provide an immersive experience for guests while offering benefits to ApeCoin holders, including 50 nights of free accommodation for members.

To boost the visibility and utility of ApeCoin, the proposal includes giving ApeCoin holders the opportunity to stay for free at the Bored Ape-themed hotel for one night. Additionally, 50% of the revenue generated from the APE-themed rooms will be directed back to the ApeCoin DAO for one year after completion. In order to qualify for a complimentary night’s stay, ApeCoin members must demonstrate their membership, have a balance of over 1 APE, and share a promotional tweet about their experience in the themed room. The hotel will also accept ApeCoin as a form of payment, showcasing the cryptocurrency’s real-world applicability.

DeSmart has already conducted on-site inspections and secured a cooperative understanding with a hotel in Khlong San, Bangkok. The hotel management has expressed support for the proposal, and the ApeCoin community has responded positively, with 90% of current votes in favor of the project. The cost of developing the rooftop bar and swimming pool at the hotel amounts to 100,000 APE tokens. Despite ApeCoin’s current value of $0.85, considerably lower than its all-time high of $26.70, the DAO remains resilient and innovative in its pursuit to reinvigorate interest in its unique cryptocurrency.

In light of recent developments where companies have discontinued their involvement in the NFT space, the proposed Bored Ape-themed hotel represents a fresh and exciting venture within the crypto world. Companies like Starbucks, GameStop, and X (owned by Elon Musk) have scaled back or terminated their NFT-related initiatives. However, the ApeCoin DAO’s initiative showcases a different approach, embracing creativity and strategic thinking to bring luxury and innovation to the cryptocurrency space. By exploring new avenues and partnerships, the DAO demonstrates its commitment to growth and sustainability in the evolving digital landscape.
